Who We Are

Information Collected

Unless you interact with my website, Youtube Channel, or any other social media service operated by me – the owner of Spirited Isle – I have no need and no interest in actively capturing your personal information. There are however background processes that will record some basic information about your visit for very specific purposes.

• I use Google Analytics to monitor how visitors use the website, but the information provided does not identify individual users.
• I use Google Adsense to monetise this website. The content displayed to each user is unique and may reflect their past web searches or activity, or it may relate to content on the web-page itself. I have no access to this information and I cannot see or control the adverts that are being served.  
• I use security monitoring software to protect my website. This will capture and filter IP addresses to help keep the website safe from unlawful access, junk mail, and abuse.
• Should you visit my YouTube Channel or another external web service that I operate, your data may be collected by those services and you should review their own policies if you have any concerns.
• Should you wish to publish a review, you will be asked to enter a user name and email address to access the form. This is for security purposes only. You will be asked to verify a user name for public display when entering your review content but your email address will not be retained when you have submitted your review. 
• If you wish to contact me, you will initially do so via a form on the website, a social media channel, or directly to the email address published (spiritedisle@gmail.com). Any information you provide is on a voluntary basis and will be used for the purpose of processing the enquiry, or collecting content information for the website. All emails are deleted when the communication has been dealt with and no information is retained.

Media

If you forward any type of media (images, videos etc.) to me by email, you should avoid using content with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. If I use this media, it will be embedded in my own work and this data will be stripped out, but I am obliged to inform you that you may share that location information with me – not that I have any interest in stalking you.

Cookies

When you visit this website, you will be prompted to acknowledge that cookies are in use. This is for information purposes and will not impact your user experience either way. You can of course delete cookie information held in your browser at any time. The cookies serve only to assist with reducing load times, monitoring content preferences, and serving diagnostic data.

Certain functions of the website are provided by third party developers, and while they have no access to the site, their applications may utilise cookies to personalise content and to serve information that is likely to be of the most interest to you.

IP Addresses

To ensure the website remains secure, your IP address will automatically be checked against a list of “bad” addresses before you can access it. This process takes less than a second and your information is not revealed to the site administrator. For security purposes, your IP address will be captured when you complete a contact form on this website.

Who Will I Share Your Data With

Other than fulfillment of any legal requirement imposed, user data is not shared with any third parties.

How Long Will I Retain Your Data

If you complete a contact form, your data may be retained for the purposes of processing – and this may take several months. Again, the information is provided on a voluntary basis for a specific purpose and it will not be shared with third parties.
