Haunted Kildare

Beneath County Kildare’s sweeping plains and historic estates lies a far darker thread. From Jesuit schools and theological colleges to military strongholds, this county harbours more than its fair share of ghosts.

In Maynooth, Rhetoric House is infamous for Room 2 - a sealed room tied to two student deaths in the 19th century. Witnesses have since described oppressive energy, sudden fear, and strange activity, prompting some modern investigators to avoid it altogether.

Just south at the Curragh Camp, decades of military history are steeped in rumour. Soldiers have reported phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, and unexplained battleground sounds - possibly linked to the nearby Gibbet Rath massacre.

Meanwhile, at Clongowes Wood College, eerie sightings aren’t confined to the dormitories. Locals driving the lanes nearby report ghostly children appearing without warning—vanishing just as quickly.
