Ghost Advisor

Welcome to Ghost Advisor by Spirited Isle.

This section will include user submitted reviews of the haunted locations listed on this website, plus accounts of any personal encounters they may have had during their visit. This section has been created to "fill in the blanks", so if you have a story to tell - this is the place to share it.

Did you visit a haunted site? Was it accessible to the public and if you had to ask for permission, how did you go about it? Did you have to pay to get in? Did you stay overnight? How were treated? Did you see, hear or feel anything? These are the kind of questions that I hope this feature will address. It's only new though, so please give it time.

To begin, find the location in the directory and then click on "Add Your Experience" at the bottom of the page.

Kinnitty Castle Hotel
Visited with a view to confirming a booking made for later in the year. Let's just say that I cancelled it. I can tell you - ghosts or not, things certainly go "bump" during the day anyway - and that's just down to the potholes in the car park.

Hellfire Club
You might add that the walk up the hill from the car park might be tough for some folk. Well worth it though. The views are great and some of the walking trails are really challenging. There's definitely a weird vibe off the old building. Don't think it's as haunted as people say it is bu […]

Kyteler's Inn
I was in Kilkenny and called in for a quick pint before the pandemic. It's a nice enough spot but it feels just like any other old world bar. Staff polite but not overly friendly.

Thoor Ballylee
I hadn't heard about the 'Norman soldier' Yeats supposedly believed haunted his tower at Ballylee. My wife and I met, in a roundabout kind of way, through our interest in Yeats, way back in 1976. I had wanted to publish on handmade paper some of his poems, along with watercolour painting […]
