In Timoney Park, Roscrea, local tradition speaks of a phantom coach that is said to race along the old approach road on certain dark evenings. According to the legend, the spectral carriage carries the shades of the Parker–Hutchinson family, long-time owners of the estate, returning to their former home.
Over the years, multiple witnesses have claimed to see the apparition — a coach drawn by dark horses, sometimes silent, sometimes accompanied by the faint clatter of wheels on gravel. The sightings are usually reported on quiet, late evenings, when the park is empty and the light has almost gone. Those who have encountered it describe the same unnerving detail: the coach never stops, never slows, and disappears abruptly as it nears the old entrance.
