A Gaelic Chieftain by the name of O’Connor pushed his nine daughters into this hole to prevent them from being abducted by a Viking army which conquered the nearby town of Ballybunion. It is said that if you visit this location and listen carefully enough, you can hear the shrieks of the nine sisters echoing.
