St. Michan’s Church dates to the eleventh century, but it’s what lies beneath that makes this site unique. Located within the crypt is a macabre museum of sorts. All the caskets within this space have rotted away over the years, but the actual, human bodies have naturally mummified. You can essentially walk through a crypt with the undead visible all around you. Some of the bodes are missing limbs, but graverobbers are not responsible for that – if someone didn’t fit into their coffin, they simply “hacked a bit off”.

Needless to say, not all the souls interred in this rather undignified burial site are quiet. Visitors have reported being touched and even grabbed by unseen hands, while others have heard disembodied voices in this creepy cavern.
