Rory O’Connor Park was constructed on the site of the Boley Mansion, once home to the actor, Sir Valentine Grace.

The mansion was reputedly haunted by a little old lady, dressed in black who would appear from time to time. When the old house was demolished and the houses built here in 1962, some residents reported hearing ethereal singing during the night and spoke of knocks and tapping sounds that could not have been caused by human hands.
