A modest home on Rathdowney Road in the village of Johnstown, County Kilkenny, became the centre of a disturbing and prolonged haunting that plagued a young couple for nearly four years.

From the moment they moved in, unsettling activity began. The couple reported hearing unexplained footsteps on the stairs and upstairs landing, persistent knocking on the windows, low growls in the dark, and even coins being thrown at them by an unseen force. The boyfriend frequently saw small shadowy figures darting in and out of his peripheral vision—always too fast to catch fully.

One of the most terrifying incidents occurred while the boyfriend was using his laptop. Hearing his girlfriend descending the stairs, he looked up to greet her—only to see a dark, menacing figure leaning over her from behind before vanishing into thin air.

Over time, the energy in the house seemed to affect the couple more deeply. The boyfriend described being overtaken by intense waves of anger, as though something was influencing or altering his state of mind. The change was so dramatic that his girlfriend often had to drive him away from the house just to help him feel like himself again.
