On the road leading down to Saleen Beach, sits the shell of a ruined building known locally as Mrs. Clem’s. The coastline here forms part of the scenic eastern fringe of County Waterford, tucked between Dunmore East and Tramore.
Who built the structure, who once lived within its walls, and how it came to fall into ruin are questions that remain, for now, unanswered.
Armed with cameras and curiosity, a group of friends set about photographing the abandoned building – only to make an unsettling discovery when they reviewed the images afterwards. Orbs were clearly visible in several of the photographs, and one member of the group later found that their camera had never worked reliably again from that night on. What began as an evening of urban exploration took a more disturbing turn when the group encountered a pale, child-like figure inside the ruin. It did not stay put. As they fled the building, the figure followed, pursuing them as far as the hedge they scrambled through to leave the site behind.
