Kilcosgriff Castle was located a few miles outside Rathkeale in County Limerick. It was said to be haunted by the spirit of the former Lord Langford’s wife in the late nineteenth century. She appeared only when a member of the Langford family was about to die. The last sighting of her occurred in 1914 at the Abbey in Rathkeale, where a nurse tending to the dying Major Langford recognized her as the White Lady.
— According to records, the castle was burned to the ground in the eighteenth century. Nobody seems quite sure where the castle was situated in relation to the village.
