This castle was built in the mid 19th century and has served various purposes, including a military barracks and a prison. The castle is believed to be haunted by several spirits, including that of a “Grey Lady” who is said to roam the corridors, especially near the old nursery and tower. Some say she is the ghost of a woman who died tragically on the grounds, perhaps due to a fall or mysterious illness. Staff and visitors have reported cold spots, unexplained noises, and sightings of a spectral figure.
