Glanmire House, situated in Dublin’s Ranelagh district, is the official residence of the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland. This historic property gained notoriety for alleged paranormal activity during Ambassador Kevin Vickers’ tenure. Vickers reported a series of unexplained events, including loud bangs, labored breathing, and heavy footsteps.

In a social media post, Vickers recalled:

I was sitting watching TV when all of a sudden I heard a heavy chain fall on the floor in the dining room. I immediately went there and there was nothing on the floor… A couple of weeks ago laying in my bed, I heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. And I could hear laboured breathing. I immediately went out to the hallway and nothing was there.

He speculated that the disturbances might be linked to the spirit of Patrick Pearse, the 1916 Easter Rising leader, who was rumored to have once lived there. He also noted that one staff member became so unnerved by the incidents that she refused to go upstairs alone.
