Opened in 1983 on the grounds of the former Fethard railway station, this museum houses a remarkable collection of more than 1,200 historical artefacts. Its displays span a wide range of transport and domestic history, including vintage prams and Victorian perambulators, penny-farthing bicycles, boneshakers, ladies’ three-wheelers, horse-drawn carriages, traditional hearses, early cameras, farm tools, laundry equipment, and a wide assortment of everyday household items. Over the decades, the museum has become a well-known stop for visitors, with an estimated 10,000 tourists passing through its doors each year.

But with so many antique objects gathered under one roof—and each carrying its own history—it’s perhaps unsurprising that the site has developed a reputation for the supernatural. Staff, visitors, and local storytellers have long whispered that certain rooms feel unusually heavy or watched, and some claim that several objects are prone to unexplained movement. These reports ultimately led to a paranormal investigation in 2012, after which the museum’s reputation as a quietly haunted location only deepened.
