In Dungarvan, a restaurant now occupies a building that previously housed an art studio. During that earlier period, several of the artists working there reported a number of unsettling experiences.
More than one person claimed to have seen an unfamiliar figure standing on the staircase inside the building. Others described the atmosphere in the basement as particularly oppressive, using words such as “grim” or “heavy” to explain how it felt to be there.
In response to these reports, a self-described psychic energy healer was invited to examine the premises. He claimed that the building contained what he referred to as “unborn entities” within the basement area. He also stated that the site retained the emotional imprint of a violent sexual assault involving a male victim, and that this trauma was still manifesting as disturbed energy within the building.
No documentary evidence is known to exist to confirm these claims, and the interpretation rests entirely on personal testimony and spiritual belief. However, the combination of repeated sightings, the persistent unease felt by those using the basement, and the later intervention of a psychic practitioner has left the building with a lasting reputation as an unusually troubled place among those who worked there at the time.
Sometimes, guests share their ghostly experiences on travel websites. Snippets of these reviews may be shared here from time to time.
From Facebook:
We had art studios there before it was turned into a restaurant- a few of the artists saw a figure on the stairs. The energy in the basement was grim. We had a psychic energy healer come to try and clear it – he said there were unborn entities in the basement. I couldn’t work there at night, when evening would set in I’d run as fast as I could down the stairs – the walls had eyes, it was chilling.
