Cabinteely House was built in 1769 for Robert Nugent, a poet and politician. Over the years, the house has been the site of paranormal activity and appears to be haunted by a ghost, although by who remains unknown. Visitors to the house can sometimes hear food cooking even though the building is empty, and the kitchens are no longer in use. Loud footsteps have also been heard upstairs, but when people go to investigate the source of these sounds, there is not a soul in sight.
