The Irish Independent newspaper reported that a family named the Doyles pleaded for a priest to come to their home in the area of Brook Meadow in Avoca village to perform an exorcism.

The father Declan Doyle claimed that his wife was afraid to stay at home alone after a female apparition was seen in the house, including in the kitchen and at the top of the staircase.

According to the wife, Kellyann, the apparition seen on the staircase had long blonde hair, was in her 30s and was wearing a dress that would have been worn in the 50s or 60s.

The family also claimed that noises were heard upstairs and in the attic area.
