Have you visited Belville House, and did you have an experience you could not explain? Click “Add Your Experience” and share your story.
Belville House, dating back to the 17th century, carries a chilling legend tied to one of its former residents—Lady Morris. Said to have taken her own life within the house, her ghost was believed to haunt the property for years. A plaque still visible on the building bears the Morris family crest, a silent reminder of its haunted past.
According to local lore, Lady Morris’s restless spirit was eventually exorcised by a priest and trapped in a bottle. The bottle’s whereabouts remain a mystery: some claim it lies hidden in the attic of Belville House, while others insist it was buried in the grounds of nearby Mountjoy Castle—once linked to the property by a secret tunnel.
