Located just outside New Ross, Beaufort House B&B is a charming Tudor-style residence that overlooks the scenic River Barrow.
In October 2017, a father and his two children stayed at the B&B for a few nights. On their first night, the daughter had a chilling encounter when she awoke to see a woman dressed in a Victorian governess-style outfit standing silently in the dark corner of her room. The figure gazed at her with a blank expression, then slowly walked over and sat at the foot of the bed. Terrified, the daughter hid under the covers, waiting until she felt the presence leave. Shaken by the experience, she immediately went to her father’s room and stayed there for the remainder of their visit. — Editor’s Note Not sure about this one but have included the original review below.

I stayed with my son and daughter in 2017 and the place is lovely. It’s close to town but off on a quiet road with easy links to Waterford or the main road to Dublin isn’t far towards Mulinavat. The full Irish breakfast is fantastic although I had the cereal and toast too along with the amazing home made granola. Great coffee every day too. Margaret herself is welcoming and lovely and happy to help with any questions or queries. The rooms were huge and comfortable and I enjoyed every minute of our stay there, especially making friends with the gorgeous little dog who snuggled with me for ages one night. My daughter who was 18 loved it too but on the 1st night she woke and saw a lady dressed in Victorian governess style dress standing in the dark in the corner of her room. The lady looked at her, expressionless, walked towards her and sat on the end of the bed. My daughter hid under the covers for a while and when she felt the woman get off the bed she got herself up and walked to my room where she stayed for the remaining 2 nights. Ghost or dream I don’t know but she’s a level headed law student. I was in the Lavender/purple room, I can’t remember which room my daughter was in.
