Ballinlough Castle dates to 1614. The castle was extended in the eighteenth century and is now home to the Nugent family.
The ghost of a young girl has been seen in one of the bedrooms. Witnesses reported that she would appear by a dressing table and would be brushing her long hair. Another alleged spirit is said to be a little more hands on, with bedsheets being pulled off sleeping guests.
The sound of horse and carriage has been heard making its way towards the property along the sweeping driveway, while full bodied apparitions have been spotted in the grounds.
