In 2021, a man named Rob, who had previously appeared on the television programme First Dates, made a public claim that he had experienced a sexual encounter with a ghost while living in an apartment on Windmill Street in Limerick, which he shared with his mother and two brothers. He described the entity as a woman in her early twenties who identified herself as “Molly.”

According to Rob, unusual activity had already been occurring in the apartment before the alleged encounter, but he claimed that activity intensified dramatically afterwards. He said that the energy in the flat became increasingly unstable, with lights switching on and off without explanation and household objects, including plates, reportedly smashing on their own. He also claimed that one morning the family discovered what appeared to be hundreds — or possibly thousands — of handprints covering the hallway walls.

Rob stated that the disturbances became so severe that the family felt unable to remain in the property and eventually left the apartment altogether.

These events have not been independently verified and are based solely on Rob’s own account as reported in media interviews and social media at the time.
