At the junction of the Broken Bridge and the Lurgan Road, numerous motorists have witnessed a hooded figure crossing directly in front of their cars. The apparition is described as being slight in build — almost like a teenager or older child. It never looks left or right, simply walking across the roadway before passing straight through a solid stone wall on the opposite side.

Local tradition remembers that many years ago, a young person was struck by a vehicle and killed at this exact spot. Some believe that the hooded figure may be the restless spirit of that unfortunate victim, forever replaying the moment that ended their life.
