Newcastle Promenade

Newcastle Promenade
Down, Ireland.

This location has either been included based on the experience of a site user or where a reputable source has referenced an alleged haunting either at the location or in the immediate vicinity.

According to one source, the historic Slieve Donard Hotel overlooks a beach where the spirit of a woman is said to ride on horseback on nights when there is a full moon.

Another source revealed that locals in Newcastle say that the fine hotel itself is also haunted. The story goes that a child fell to her death many, many years ago, and that her distraught mother followed her. They claim the child’s laughing can sometimes be heard in the corridors when the bedrooms have been empty. My source claims to have heard it.
