In 2005, a jeweller spotted a mysterious lady in the work room of his store on Mandeville street. He described her as being approximately 5″8 (172.72 cm) in height, and with white, silvery hair. She was wearing a black dress with a white apron. The ghost appeared at least three times, and he also began to experience poltergeist activity in his store around the same time.

The witness suggested that the figure could have been the ghost of Ma Berry who once ran a local pub – the Manchester Arms. Another theory was that it could have been another spirit that was displaced when a nearby building was demolished.

The jeweller has since moved and the location is now in use as an office. Does the ghost remain? Maybe someone reading this could let us know!
