The IMC Cinema in Carlow opened in 2009. The cinema and the neighbouring shopping centre were built on the site of an old cattle mart and it is possible that a farmer may now haunt the cinema.
In 2009, a teenager walked out of a film screening, claiming that the ghost of an elderly gentleman in a hat had appeared beside him. He was very sure that he had seen a ghost and was visibly shaken by the encounter when he relayed his experience to a staff member. Other customers and some members of staff, claimed to have experienced unusual activity in the building too, and some said they were wary of entering certain areas on their own.
