Darkey Kelly’s

Darkey Kelly’s
Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland.

Located in an area of the city once known as “hell”, Darkey Kelly’s is a welcoming bar, restaurant & live Irish music venue on Fishamble Street.

The venue is named after Dorcas (Darkey) Kelly who was burned at the stake after being accused of witchcraft. While it is highly unlikely that she was actually a witch, body parts were discovered hidden under the floorboards of a brothel she ran in the area leading people to conclude that she may have in fact been a serial killer.

Some believe that Darkey’s restless spirit still haunts the area and people visiting this lively spot have reported hearing strange noises, witnessing objects moving of their own accord, and also felt the sensation as if they are being watched.

The ghost of Darkey Kelley has also been associated with nearby St. Audoen’s Church.
